Access: Pamber Forest

Pamber Forest Pamber Forest (grid reference SU 612 617) is a 479 acre (192ha) Site of Special Scientific Interest. Mostly hardwood, it is a haven for wildlife and is noted for its many rare butterflies including the small Pearl-bordered Fritillary and the Purple Emperor.

Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council through the Hampshire Wildlife Trust manage the forest for the Estate. For a suggested walk around Pamber Forest please click here.

Horse riding is restricted to specific routes for Permit holders only.


To help with the enjoyment of the area kindly: -

Take care not to disturb wildlife or any other visitors.

Keep dogs under close control.
Take your litter home.
Do nothing to cause a fire.

We regret that no camping, overnight stays, bicycles, motorcycles, vehicles of any sort or firearms can be permitted in Pamber Forest.
