Englefield hosts annual Teddy Bears' picnic

This classic nursery rhyme was brought to life when dozens of children from Silchester Church of England Primary School descended on the woods on the Englefield Estate for their annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

Every year the school holds its teddy bears’ picnic event at the Benyon’s Inclosure. The children take part in a nature ramble to the Estate, collecting items en route which they can later use when they are back in the classroom to map and record their adventure, before heading to Kiln Pond to enjoy their picnic.

Richard Edwards, Forestry Manager, said: “We are pleased to welcome the children from the school each year, and knowing how much they enjoy visiting the Estate is precisely the reason why we host community visits such as these.”
