Additionally, the 12th-century St Marks Church on the Estate provided the backdrop for one of the scenes for the Lloyds Bank ‘For Your Next Step’ series of adverts. The iconic black stallion can be seen galloping down the main drive in front of the church. As the church is on our own land we were able to secure the area while filming was taking place which made production much quicker and easier.
While Englefield House has been much in demand for filming and photography the 14,000 acres of land surrounding it also provides many location options.
During a two day shoot, our grounds were transformed into a safari park for a 40-second advert for EE which featured Hollywood stalwart Kevin Bacon and Peep Show comedian David Mitchell. Not only did we host numerous crew and extras we also had to make room for a troop of energetic monkeys, and their handlers, who had a starring role. The finished advert also featured a herd of giraffe but fortunately these were added in post-production.
