Head Gardener
Lucy joined the team in July 2026 as Head Gardener, leading the care and future development of the Englefield Gardens.
She oversees the Estate’s formal gardens, water features, wildflower areas and walled kitchen garden, as well as the care and establishment of young trees within the gardens. Her priorities include strengthening the gardens’ resilience to changing weather and improving soil health.
Before joining Englefield, Lucy was Lead Gardener at The Oratory School in Oxfordshire and has completed Level 2 studies in Principles of Plant Growth and Development through the Royal Horticultural Society.
The Englefield Estate manages 14,000 acres of mainly rural land and property in West Berkshire. We are hands on in the management of our farming, forestry and property interests and take a long-term view of good stewardship, investment and building strong local relationships.
