Creating an event to remember

Englefield Estate has taken on its biggest and most ambitious event yet for an exclusive corporate client. Covering all corners of the House and Grounds, the event was months in the planning, took three weeks to construct, and a team of over 500 to design and install.

Organised by Brands At Work and featuring some famous faces from the world of comedy and broadcast as hosts, the event was an opportunity for the company’s 1,300 employees to reconnect, refocus and relax.

It featured a yurt-based wellness village offering mindfulness and tai chi workshops and sessions in yoga and osteopathy rehab; an arts tent and lawn theatre with poetry and comedy performances, dance workshops and book discussions; as well as a glasshouse and lakeside pub for TED type talks, current affairs stand-up and a pub quiz. There was even a land train providing transportation between the venues across the 90-acre site.

Guests selected their own workshops and sessions, which also included tours of Englefield House and gardens, drawing classes, wine and food demonstrations, a virtual cycling tour and a Land Rover Discovery driving experience in our woodlands.

The celebration ended in a spectacular celebration in a building constructed solely for the occasion. The 30-metre-high and 100-metre-long translucent dome proved to be a memorable venue for dinner, light show concert and dancing.

Brands At Work Executive Producer Simon Mayne commented: “Englefield Estate was the perfect venue for the event. Not only did it have the scope and scale to accommodate all the buildings and different elements of our programme but it also has the most stunning setting. From the deer park to Englefield House, the gardens and woodlands to the lake, the Estate provided the most spectacular views no matter what part of the event site you were on.

“This was a large event with a complex schedule of construction and installation. However, the team at Englefield was just brilliant. They were extremely accommodating and professional and we really appreciated the amazing support they gave us which helped make the event such a success.”

The team at Englefield treat every event as unique, combining a magnificent setting with a warm welcome and a first-class service.

Peter Carson, House and Events Manager at Englefield Estate, said: “This was the biggest corporate event that we have hosted and was a huge undertaking for all involved, but the end result was worth the hard work.

“We were thrilled that the client selected Englefield as the venue for their special celebration and delighted to be able to play our part in delivering such a successful event for them and their guests.”
